WOMEN'S FELLOWSHIP

The mission of the Ebenezer Women's Fellowship is to provide opportunities for spiritual growth, enrichment, education and creative ministries to enable women to develop a sense of personal responsibility for the whole mission of the Church of Jesus Christ. The motto is "Sincerity in Service"

The Women's Fellowship meets on the 3rd Monday if the month. However 2 -3 times a year, they host the meeting of the Regional WOmen's Fellowship on the first Monday of each month. These Regional meetings rotate monthly among the churches in the Nassau Region.

One of the goals of the Ebenezer Women's Fellowship is to encourage younger omwne of the congregation to become a part of the group and dispel the myth that the group is only for retired and senior ladies. In recent years, the Fellowship has attracted younger ladies of our congregation and all of these persons are actively involved.

Planned activities include visits and the delivery of care packages to the sick and shut-in members of the congregation. Joint meetings are sometimes held with the Men's Fellowship as well as the annual bus tour.

Enola and Elina Lighbourne attended the seminar led by Cynthia Clear of the United Theological College of The West Indies. Additionally, Olga Brookes-Smith, Deaconness in The Bahamas at the time, invited representatives from all Methodist churches to a meeting to formulate goals and objectives for women's groups. Enola Lightbourne and Zala Johnson attended and a subsequently a Women's Group was formed at Ebenezer.

On October 23, 1974, the following officers were elected:

Dorothy Johnson - Vice President
