MUSIC MINISTRY
The Music Ministry of Ebenezer is a vital component of our worship - it connects those in the congregation to the life of the church and of service and mission beyond our walls. The Music Ministry of Ebenezer exists to enhance spiritual enrichment and the worship of God for all people of all ages through music, both choral and instrumental. Music at Ebenezer ranges from traditional hymns and contemporary arrangements to southern gospel and even indigenous spiritual arrangements sung by our choir, vocalists and ensembles. Opportunities for participation are available for all ages and areas of musical interest.
Sanctuary Choir The Sanctuary Choir is an adult choir that is open to all who wish to share in the joy and fellowship of praising God in song. The choir provides music for the morning worship services twice a month. Rehearsals are Wednesday evenings at 7:00 in the music room. From this choral group also come various mixed voice trios, quartets, ladies and men’s ensembles. This choir is directed by Mr. Barry Newbold, Music Director. Children’s Choir The Children’s Choir is open to grades Kindergarten through 6th grade. It is directed by Mrs. Kimberley McPhee-Ferguson. Rehearsal is held in the Music Room on Wednesdays at 6:30pm. Ebenezer Concert Band The Ebenezer Band leads our congregation along with the piano and organ during morning and some evening worship services as they accompany the hymns and at times perform special selections. Ebenezer Youth Ensemble This small yet powerful ensemble is comprised of teenage singers in our congregation who share their talents in worship and special services once a month. Rehearsal is held on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 in the Sanctuary. They are directed by our Youth DIrector, Miss Giavanna Knowles, also a national vocalist. Ebenezer Handbell Ringers Ebenezer currently owns five 1/2 octaves of Schulmerich handbells and The Ebenezer Handbell Ringers has been in existence since 1990 and its members have changed over the years as individuals matured and moved on to college. A new group of bell ringers has recently restarted under the direction of Dr. Linda Lightbourne. For more information contact the Music Director: Mr. Barry Newbold at [email protected] ANTHEMS 1.
