AUDITORIUM GETTING A FACE-LIFT!
|
The plans initiated by the Auditorium Renovation Task Force have started to take shape as the old louvered windows which were installed in 1983 are being changed into more modern looking and hurricane proof windows. These will allow more light into the building and withstand the forces of hurricanes which come our way each year. The Auditorium is still a National Hurricane Shelter.
Plans are underway to replace the top storey windows so that the entire building can look uniform. Additional renovations to take include new flooring, replacing the stage, upgraded air-conditioning, upgraded sound system, a mounted projector and a way to section off the auditorium mid-way to make two separate spaces. Yes, all of this will cost money and so we appeal to all Ebenezer members and friends to assist as the renovations continue. For families that would like to get together to donate a window, please feel free to assist. Each window costs roughly $2000 and we are looking to replace 8 windows on the top storey. Upon completion we hope to have a new, modern auditorium that we can be proud of and that the community at large can use as well. |
